Our staff


All members of our staff are committed to working with and supporting families and deaf and hearing impaired children who attend Yeerongpilly.

Teachers (click to expand)
Our teachers are skilled and knowledgeable in:
  • educating deaf and hearing impaired children and developing their communication – language, listening, speech and sign
  • guiding the overall development of children
  • supporting children’s access to the regular curriculum.

Speech-language pathologists (click to expand)
Our speech-language pathologists are skilled and knowledgeable in:
  • developing children’s speech and language, particularly in children with a hearing loss
  • developing and implementing speech and language therapy programs
  • assessing, using formalized tests at various stages of the children’s development.

Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist (click to expand)
Our physiotherapist and occupational therapist are skilled and knowledgeable in the development of children’s gross and fine motor skills. Parents may choose for their child to have an initial assessment once they have joined our program.

Teacher aides, Auslan language models and educational interpreters (click to expand)
Our teacher aides, Auslan language models and educational interpreters are skilled and knowledgeable in supporting deaf and hearing impaired children in the classroom at Yeerongpilly and in regular early childhood settings.

Guidance officer (click to expand)
Our guidance officer is skilled and knowledgeable in:
  • providing advice and counselling for parents
  • conducting formal and informal adaptive, cognitive assessments
  • providing support when children and their families are transitioning to other settings
  • providing support to parents and staff for behaviour management of children
  • providing support to parents regarding formal schooling (year one).
